Dr. Chrissoleon Papadopoulos
Dr. Chrissoleon T. Papadopoulos is Professor in Quantitative Methods in Production, Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, at the School of Economic Sciences, Department of Business Administration, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece (Δεκ. 2004 – 2021). Dr. Chrissoleon Papadopoulos’ primary research covers the areas of manufacturing and supply chains: stochastic modeling and design of manufacturing and service/logistics systems. He has served for 4 years (1989-1993) as Logistics Manager at Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC) Hellas (now Hewllett-Packard (hp) Hellas). He has published over 40 journal papers (in IJPR, Operations Research, Naval Research Logistics, EJOR, IJPE, IIE Transactions, C&IE, C&OR, Omega, among others), 3 books (published by Chapman & Hall, 1993, Springer, 2009 and `sofia editions’, 2015) and 2 edited books (published by Kluwer, 2003 and Springer, 2006), and 1 Chapter in a book published by Springer, 2013, in the area of Stochastic Modeling of Manufacturing and Service Operations (SMMSO) and many international and national Conference papers.
Dr. Chrissoleon T. Papadopoulos has been awarded with the Academic Excellence Award of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki by the ex-Rector, Prof. Perikles Mitkas and a Special Evaluation Committee for the h-index of his Scopus publications in 2015 (31st March, 2016) and the Research Leadership Award from the Scientific Committee of the International Series of Conferences in the area SMMSO, in June 2015. Also, he has been Keynote speaker of the ICOPEV 2018 International Conference on Production Economics and Project Evaluation. It was held on the 20th and 21st of September 2018, at the University of Minho in Guimarães, Portugal.
Dr. C.T. Papadopoulos is invited Associate Editor of the Flexible Services and Manufacturing (FSM) Journal, Invited member of the Editorial Board of the International journals: IJPR, C&IE, Decision Making in Manufacturing and Services, International Journal of Systems Science: Operations & Logistics, and he has served as a Department Editor of the IIE Transactions and other journals in Operations Management and Logistics/Supply Chain Management. He is Guest
co-Editor in several Volumes/Special Issues in the area of SMMSO of the journal Annals of Operations Research (ANOR), one Volume of IIE Transactions, one Volume of IISE Transactions, one Volume of OR Spectrum and two Volumes of IJPR.
Dr. C.T. Papadopoulos has been the Founder and Coordinator of the Master Programs MBA and Logistics Management of the University of the Aegean (2001-2002) and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2011-2014 and 2007-2011), respectively, and Director of the Graduate Program “Design of Human-Computer Interaction Systems and Design of Products and Manufacturing Systems’’, Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering, University of the Aegean, Syros Island, Greece, October 2003 – December 2004. He has served as Head of the Department of Business Administration of the University of the Aegean (1999 – 2001) and Head of the School of Economics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2005-2009).
He has been the Founder of the Series of International Conferences in the area of SMMSO and has organized the first five Conferences of this Series (1997, 1999, 2001, 2003 and 2005). He has served as Business Consultant and Principal Investigator (PI) of Research Programs (national and European).
