Michael A. Madas is an Associate Professor on Supply Chain Management at the Department of Applied Informatics, School of Information Sciences, University of Macedonia. He holds a bachelor degree in Marketing and Operational Research (2000), a M.Sc. Degree in Decision Sciences (Logistics and Transport Specialization) (2001), and a Ph.D. (2007) from the Athens University of Economics and Business. Dr. Madas has been actively involved in teaching undergraduate and graduate courses related to logistics and supply chain management, transport management, as well as project and programme management. He has published 2 books/edited volumes, 22 publications in highly recognized, international, scientific journals, 5 publications in edited volumes and books, and more than 50 papers included in conference proceedings. His professional research experience includes the participation and active involvement in a large number of European R&D projects funded by the European Commission, public and private bodies. He has substantial expertise in the management and operations of transportation systems, logistics and supply chain management, transport policy and pricing, decision support and information systems in transport and logistics, as well as project and programme management.
